Julie Culley Advances to 5,000-Meter Final at U.S. Olympic Track Trials

Former Loyola track coach Julie Culley has advanced to the 5,000-meter finals at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Ore. Culley, who led Loyola's women's track program as head coach and assistant cross country coach, left her position at the school to pursue her Olympic dream prior to the start of the 2007 outdoor season. Michael Mulieri Wins Maryland State Amateur Championship

06/08/2008 - Loyola golfer Michael Mulieri won the 87th Maryland State Amateur Championship on Sunday with a 4 and 2 victory in the match play final. The Greyhound captain qualified with a scoring round and then beat the oppressive weekend heat and advanced through five rounds of match play to claim the 2008 title at Woodholme Country Club in suburban Baltimore.

Former Greyhound Jamie Barone To Compete In U.S. Olympic Swim Trials

06/27/2008 - Former Loyola College swimmer Jamie Barone will compete in the U.S. Olympic Trials that begin this weekend. Barone, who captained the Greyhounds in 2001 and 2002, also assisted Head Coach Brian Loeffler in 2003-04. He will compete in the 100-meter breaststroke for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team.

Women's Track Coach Harvey Leaves His Position

06/24/2008 - Loyola College Director of Athletics Joe Boylan today announced that Greyhounds Women's Track and Field Head Coach Brett Harvey is leaving his position to pursue other interests. A search for a replacement will begin immediately.

Jen Adams Named Loyola Women's Lacrosse Head Coach

06/06/2008 - Loyola has named Jen Adams the seventh head coach in the history of the College's women's lacrosse program. Adams finished her collegiate playing career as the NCAA's all-time leader in points and assists and has been a top coach since.

Loyola Men Claim First MAAC Commissioner's Cup

06/04/2008 - The Loyola College men's athletics programs collectively claimed the 2008 men's MAAC Commissioner's Cup with 55.5 points earned in league competition this season. The Greyhounds, who have won the women's Commissioner's Cup a total of four times since joining the league in 1990, are men's champions for the first time in school history.

Loyola Crew Closes Year With Solid Finish at IRA National Championships

06/08/2008 - The Loyola crew team closed the books on the 2007-08 season with a pair of men's boats racing on the final day of the IRA National Championship Regatta. The Greyhounds posted solid finishes in the Men's Pair and Varsity 4 with Coxswain on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J. on Saturday.
